Welcome to the Nunnykirk School for Dyslexia website.

Nunnykirk School is a school for dyslexia - providing specialist education for boys and girls who experience specific learning difficulties, in particular dyslexia, for over 30 years.

We aim to be a school of excellence for the teaching of children with dyslexia and other associated learning difficulties. Nunnykirk School provides a friendly and supportive environment for children where high standards, hard work and sensible behaviour are expected.

We aim to find the best in every pupil, build up their confidence, encourage social awareness, help develop interests in sports and hobbies and prepare our pupils for further education, vocational training opportunities or the work place.

Nunnykirk School has consistently received very positive Ofsted reports and we have recorded many achievements by our pupils over the years including national awards for poetry, photography, art and sports.

Our learning programme is specifically designed to address the needs of pupils with dyslexia and other associated difficulties such as dyspraxia or speech and language problems.

All of the school's qualified and special dyslexia trained teachers and care staff work hard to meet the needs of every individual pupil and we hope that your son or daughter will benefit from the unique Nunnykirk School experience.

This website is designed to provide you with all the information you need about dyslexia and Nunnykirk School but please contact us if you have any specific queries or want further information.
