Pupils also take part in visits to the theatre, cinema and museums. Every year there is an Activity Week. When new pupils arrive at Nunnykirk they are put into a ‘House’ and throughout the year there are Inter-House competitions culminating in the last week of the Summer Term for athletics and our own Endurance Race in which the whole school takes part.

Every other year pupils have the opportunity to take part in an activity trip abroad. In addition, the school participates in a great many extra curricular sporting activities, We enter tournaments in football, swimming, cross country, and regularly play football matches against other schools. This gives pupils the opportunity to participate in regular competitive activity and increase their social skills. Staff and pupils present a ‘Christmas Production’ every year.

Pastoral Care
The care and well-being of all pupils is the basis of a happy and successful school. All staff are closely connected with the pastoral side. During the day teaching staff are responsible but out of lesson time, care staff are involved. A Resident Housemaster and Matron all contribute to the excellent care provision. The many activities, trips and excursions plus the normal care and advice, the ‘shoulder to cry on’, the example to follow, are all achieved in a caring and understanding manner.
